Will i be able to make friends, and what should i expect?
Let me first start off by saying that I am an american female, and I was excepted to study for the remainder of my college education at Birmingham City University this fall. I am an african-american if that matters any, and I am 20 years old. I'm originally from Florida and I have been to the United Kingdom and Iceland for childrens choir tours, and a ballet company. Now, that you know a little about me, will I be able to make friends? I know its lame, but I have even started reading up cockney(londoners) and general slang from other areas of the united kingdom. I have started watching alot of UK television(channel four, ITV, Film4,) and trying to figure out the money situation. Im so nervous about what to expect living here full time. Will people pick on me? also, what do I wear? Im a salt life girl(florida) and used to midriff, bikinis and tanks, and short shorts. I dont want to offend anybody though so wardrobe advice is a must. Also, will being black matter as much as in america? as in racism? Oh and Im studying cellular and molecular bio if that matters to and I will be a senior. Thanks everybody for any advise. have a great day!
